  • Surround sound speakers placed behind the screen??

Early stage of my build in my 2nd story garage. Dry wall guys coming next week so now is the time to do any speaker wiring in the walls. Friends have recommended wiring for surround sound when watching movies so I am wondering about the acoustic issues of placing center speaker behind the HD screen/net. When googling this issue and going to the AVSForum guys, the folks doing exclusively home cinema builds, reference acoustically transparent screens like at theaters. Well, I am a golf first, second and third; movie watching with surround sound is not priority. BUT, since now is the time to run speaker wire, I wonder if any of you guys have placed speakers behind your HD screens and noticed any acoustic issues when watching movies??

    THANKS

I have speakers behind my screen. They sound fine to me.

I have mine behind the screen. They sound good. My only concern is that I get some reverb or echo when recording rounds on video. I may have to turn the sound down or off.

The high frequencies will be cut down just by a touch but that most likely you won't even notice.
