  • Net Return Setups

I was curious if anyone had any special net return setups, I mean I just have the net and side barriers and a solid mat, but want to get a screen, and was curious if anyone has the net return projector screen from the actual company, I've also seen a cheaper alternative here (http://www.shop.virtual-golf-simulat...eries-1816.htm) but don't see any pictures or reviews online of it, so was curious if anyone has this. Thanks!

I set my old man up with the pro series and screen. It's a quality piece and looks very nice when lit with a projector. The only complaint I have is that the top of the screen is difficult to get straight and even after a month of hanging the crease marks from folding haven't come out of the screen. Apart from that it's great.

I tried the cheaper alternative and returned it quickly. Not flat, lots of creases, and after a few shots would slip out of place. If I were going to a projection screen, I would ditch the netreturn net and start over with a dedicated simulation screen setup entirely. But I don't mind playing with the netreturn and a 40 inch tv to the side. I aim with my direction sticks on the mat, not by looking at the screen/net.

I've got the net return pro with the screen sold by them. I'm trying to figure out a way to get it to stay right more often but overall I'm pretty happy. I needed something portable in my garage and it works great for that. If your looking for something that would be in a dedicated sim room and have the budget, I can see a larger screen looking better, but for my needs and the ability to play in my garage, it still looks really good

Thanks for the response! Do you have any pictures of setup by chance? I'd appreciate it if you did

Thanks for the response! Just ensuring you did get the one I posted in my original post that is Supertex?

Thanks for the response! I know this is a few months behind, I haven't been on this for a while. By chance do you have any pictures you could share of the screen? Also just making sure you're saying you got this one: https://www.thenetreturn.com/product...iant=631222841

Did you get the updated one with polyester fabric, it says they updated last year in February?

This is the Net Return new screen. I have to find a way to keep the ends on top from bunching in, My whole net return sets a little un-square, if I can get a little tension at the corners I will be happy with it.

Miwamc, thanks for posting your pictures. How is the new screen holding up? How loud is it with driver or long irons with impact? Bounce back an issue? Have you tried the copper pipe at the top to spread the screen out evenly accross the net return? I appreciate your feedback. I'm looking at doing something similar with my setup.

I have the copper pipe on there, the last tab of the screen on either end are on the copper and not attached to the frame, that is what is scrunching in after a few hits, not too bad but enough to create a couple of waves in the screen. The only issue I have had with bounce back is hitting a sand wedge and it skips up the screen into a net I have installed over the top of the net return and that net drops it back at me but the ball doesn't have much velocity at that point. Hitting a driver into the screen, the ball pretty much drops straight down. I am only hitting from about 6 feet away so I'm pretty close. If I do some garage cleaning I can move back a couple of feet and when I do that, I think I can also move the projector to the center. I don't think it is loud at all, at the same time I put up the impact screen I covered the garage floor with some old green carpet that I had, and I think that with the impact screen and the carpet it seems quieter than it did with just the net and concrete floors (other than the net return 10x10 turf and my hitting mat). I've only had this setup for a few weeks now, so I can't speak to how it will hold up, seems sturdy.

Use 2 zip ties at each end of the copper rod and your scrunching problem will cease to exist!

I have had netreturn for over a year. I just put a hole in the NetReturn impact screen, and replaced it with the one you linked (http://www.shop.virtual-golf-simulat...eries-1816.htm).

I like the Virtual Golf Sim screen better by far. It is thicker (which I hope will mean it lasts longer). Its much heavier and the sound of the ball hitting the screen is alot quieter than with the Netreturn version. Its also $100 cheaper.

The side straps are also nice, and help to keep the screen flatter.

When I put a hole in the netreturn impact screen, I almost decded to box the whole net up and get a better enclosure. NetReturn is not very good as a frame for an impact screen. Its not wide enough, and the rounded top corners mean that getting an impact screen to be flat takes some DIY rigging.

I think I will use the new screen, and when it wears out I will be getting a different enclosure. The Impact screen stand from Par-2-Pro looks decent. Or any of the EMT kits that you see on amazon/ebay etc.
