  • Backing for impact screen

I have an electrical conduit frame for my screen with netting behind it. I would like to back this with a foam mattress topper but I'm unsure of the best way to hang/support the foam topper? Any ideas?

Here's what I did to suspend two memory foam mattresses. It's upside down for some reason.

in short it's 2 mattresses attached to a 12 foot 2x4 hung by rope.

I sandwiched two 1.5" king size memory foam mattresses between two pieces of half inch white door trim from home depot, drilled those together with foam in the middle, then drilled that to a 2x4 mounted to the ceiling with Simpson screws. The memory foam is about 2" behind the screen. Balls drop dead pretty good. See pictures. I plan to use carpet tape on the back side of the mattresses to eliminate the small gap.

I had a full size matress behind my screen and netting but I felt it had too much bounce back.. so I took it down. does the memory foam work better and does it reduce bounce and less noisy? I just bought a new screen and just put it over the old one. Seems to work fine no bounce back and def quiter.

Hay anyone used 2 layers of carpet underpad instead of memory foam?

I used two layers of moving blankets, the thick quilted kind. They work extremely well and are pretty easy to hang.
