  • Tarp Clips with Raw Material vs. Bungees with Finished Material

Based on everyone's experience with these two ways to mount an impact screen, please post pros/cons for each.

Raw and tarp clips are cheaper. More importantly, I like to be able to buy 3 feet extra material use the screen until I deem it finished and move the screen over and the hitting area is back to new. This can be do horizontally and vertically.

Excellent point. I never thought about that. Reversing and turning upside down doesn't help a lot, this gives you brand new material at the wear area

This is a great idea. Have you tried this yet? I'm curious if the tarp clips leave a mark or indentation on the screen when moving it over?

Add me to that query. I suppose a couple dints beats the hell out of buying a new screen from scratch. An extra 3-4' of raw material could double or triple the life of the screen

They do not leave a dent that can be seen when the projector is on.

I am new to the golf sim world and am planning a build. I have spent about 20 hrs reading through the forum and my head is spinning. I am interested in getting on the list for the next direct from the mill fabric. My room is 15'6" wide, 11'6" high, and 24' long. What size screen would you recommend I order? If it matters I plan on using my room for golf and as a home theater. Thank you.

Go as wide as possible... call it 15' to give yourself a bit of room on each side and then adjust the height of the screen by using the 16:10 resolution. (16:9 movies will be the same width with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and the 16:10 golf simulator will fit perfectly). So a 15' wide screen would be around 9 1/2 height.

Awesome thank you. Should I order a wider screen so I can move the impact area after a years time or so?

I would suggest yes to order wider, cheaper than ordering another full screen and you never know when another run would be available.
    Working...
