Blackout cloth and Qolf balls

Hey folks, first time poster! I'm considering buying a Skytrak for practice and an Optishot for fun. I'll be setting it up in my garage and will be using Qolf balls on both. My question is-will blackout cloth work as an impact screen for Qolf balls? I'm gonna build a 114"x96" wood framed projector/impact screen that I can hang from the ceiling on hooks and chains, that will be suspended at all four corners when not in use. I already have a 4'x4' Monster Mat to stand on, but will build separate frames for the Optishot/putting green, and another for the Skytrak. I just got a new laptop for Christmas that should handle the needs of the Optishot and Skytrak practice mode. I do have an iPhone 6s, so maybe I can use both units at the same time? Thanks for the help!

You can get some pretty heavy duty geotextile that is black that is used in road construction and filter fabric for sewage systems etc. I couldn't see why it wouldn't take a qolf ball. Obviously projecting onto a black screen wouldn't work but if you were just using a monitor, I think it would be fine

This would be used as a combination impact screen/projector screen, so it would need to be lighter in color.

I use a cloth painters tarp I got from Harbor Freight. It works fine for foam balls. Not sure about the Qolf balls. Not the greatest for a projection screen but works well enough for me. I have been thinking about putting a black sheet or something behind the tarp to limit bleed through.

Does that Harbor Freight tarp have a seam in it?

Yes it does. I used it as a screen initially, not obtrusive but you can see it there in the image.

Mine doesn't have a seam down the middle if that's what you're asking. I have the 9'x 12'. Does have some wrinkles that I haven't given much effort to see if I can get them out.

From what I've read online, seams are kinda hit and miss on most cloth tarps. These billboard tarps are seamless up to 10'. I think I'll try the 22 ounce version over the 55 ounce after looking at the weights. The 55 weighs roughly 39 lbs at 10x10, the 22 weighs 15. I'll probably use those curtain clips with hoops to hang on a steel tube with another hanging at the bottom (to hang from ceiling when not in use), so the lighter the better.
