New Build Suggestions

Hi all

I'm looking to build my first swing studio in and area 4.2m wide by 3.2m tall. Depth is not much of an issue as i have 8m to play with. I would like the best quality screen i can and as far as i can tell the HQ2 is as good as im going to get? My question is in relation to what size recommendation does anyone have given the dimensions of the room. Initially i was looking at aspect ratios of 4:3 as i want a nice professional image with the projector filling the entire screen. Then i have thought that a widescreen 16:9 resolution would possibly work if i did not use the full 3.2 height that i have available.

Does anyone have any opinions on which was i should go with this?

You may want to consider 16:10 also.

You want to use as much height as possible. It gives you better options when playing wedges.
Your dimensions are perfect for a 4:3 resolution.

If if I were you, I'd contact Cory @ Par2Pro and tell him your dimensions and how you want to attach the screen (EMT Frame / Angle Iron to the wall etc), and he'll give you the correct sizes and costs.
He had all of my room custom made for me to the correct sizes.

But if you use 4:3 doesn't it squash image? I personally like 16:10 option better

But when I use 43 on the projector it just leaves gaps at the side and makes the game screen smaller, what am I doing wrong?

Move your projector further back and pretend those black side bars don't exist

Projector is likely native 16:9 - So when you go 4:3, you either stretch it to 16:9 or you have it spit out black in the unused space. So move your projector back making the image bigger until you only have your 4:3 image fill up your screen.

IF you have side curtains that are black, it will make them disappear and it will look like your projector is a native 4:3.

When I set my 16:9 Benq to 4:3, I have no black borders. It only displays the 4:3 image and nothing else.

I've tried that, but the image looks squashed? Do I need to change the resolution on my graphics card to suit ?

Yes -- you need to change the resolution from your computer. It shouldn't look squashed (ie. a square should be a square and a circle a circle, if the settings are right.)

Hello, new to the forum and golf simulators. Are there multiple ratios that the golf simulator softwares use? I'm working with 8'7" height and 10'5"
wide of space for my screen to go. I assume a 4:3 (1.33) ratio screen makes the most sense for me. So should I get a screen that is 7'6" (90 in) high and 10' wide (120in)? 120/90 = 1.33. It seems pretty straight forward but I'm looking for any clarification and/or insight because I really don't unused white space on the screen.
