  • Need a New Hitting Surface to Replace Optishot

I bought an Ulti Mat 2 from golfsimulatorguys.com for my optishot a couple years ago. I have matched that turf with other turf from Lowe's to complete a 12' by 15' space and don't want to tear it up. The hitting area turf gets torn up pretty quickly, especially with steeper swings with irons. I want to remove the optishot insert now that I have a skytrak but do not really want to go back with their insert because it won't last a year. The hole is 9-3/4" by 18-5/8" and I have no problem making something myself. I have the rubber padding and proper sealants for layering but am not sure what materials to use. I like what I see from truestrike and divotaction and can cut out a bigger hole if needed but was wondering if anyone else had any ideas for how to get a quality hitting surface in this space. Matching the color would be a bonus but not mandatory.

They sell a 10"x 30" CCE mat on amazon and eBay.

What about this one. I have the Monster Mat and just removed my optishot from it. I turned my mat around so that I am now standing where the optishot cut out is. I just took my cutout and placed it back into the optishot hole. The one in the link is a bit bigger than your opening but it could be cut down.

Our golf mat is made of 100% spring crimped nylon material. It will not fade, bunch, weather or leave marks on your clubs. Our Emerald Chip golf mat is 1" thick with a urethane backing that will withstand repeated abuse.
