Tee line hitting turf questions

Finishing off my simulator build and considering going with a tee line material for the hitting area, and transitioning from it onto a lower pile height turf for putting. Right now I have an older driving range mat with a Custom Design Golf Divot Action insert. I like the Divot Action, but not tied to it. I have read posts from others that have the Synlawn tee line material (Tee Strike) and it looks nice. I have also heard of the EZ Tee material from STI. The EZ Tee is a poly material that is 1 1/4" and the Tee Strike looks to be made of nylon and 1" tall.

The thing that concerns me is how it feels under foot and how the club interacts with the longer turf length. I don't want the turf grabbing my club like the CCE mat/turf can. It would also be good to know if you can get a putt rolling off tee line turf without it bouncing all over the place. I have not had problems with putting off the Divot Action material, but it has a much lower pile height. My default option is to just get a new stance mat and keep the Divot Action insert, and then flush the hitting mat up with the putting turf I plan to put down. I use a GC2 and hit from about 10' from the screen. My sim is in the garage and the tee line would go right on the concrete. The plan is to build up the putting turf height by using foam floor tiles underneath.

I use EZ Tee Line ... it's pretty good but I do find that a rubber underlay is necessary to get a better feel especially to stand on. Otherwise it feels a bit like standing in fluffy rough.

A rubber pad between back side of the turf and the floor? Trying to envision how this would make it firmer, unless you have the EZ Tee on carpet.

How is it to putt off of?

I just bought a 9'x12' synlawn tee strike from a local distributor and its awesome...definitely recommend the tee strike. Go to your local synlawn distributor and ask for remnants...you can get some for cheap! I payed $150 for this mat

That's a great deal you got there! Unfortunately, no Synlawn brick and mortar distributor in Michigan. How is it to putt on? What were you using for a mat before, and how does this compare?

You got a great deal, I'm jealous. Our synlawn dealer in central Ohio wanted $225 for a 5x5 piece. He doesn't include Teestrike in the remnant pricing. He must get alot of requests for sim builds.

The putting is good...I was hitting off of a 4x5 All Turfs Mat...The Tee Strike I feel is realistic as far as hitting off of. I like it a lot better and I don't have to worry about the mat moving around under my feet.

How do you like the TeeStrike? Specifically have you compared it to the Country Club Elite?

I have a 6x6 cutout where I would put my mat in my flooring setup using horsestall mats. I am leaning toward the 5x5 CCE and filling in the gaps with additional strips of 1 foot horse stall mats, but it would be easier and i believe cheaper to get a 6x6 teestrike from my Ohio Synlawn dealer.

Did you add any padding below the hitting area, or are you just hitting off the TeeStrike and concrete? My concern is mostly golfer's elbow and potential issues from hitting 200 balls a day on concrete.

I love it! No padding below...it is layed out on concrete...if you do hit the ball fat it will punish you a little but nothing terrible...I found the CCE was more punishing.
