  • How do you putt in the simulator indoor?

So I know you can get a mat for hitting shots when you want to play a simulator.

But how do you guys do putting? Because putting on a hitting mat is definitely different from hitting on a putting grass/mat. The data would get screwed up and your practice won't help.

It looked like most of the setup just had regular turf mats between the screen and the hitting mat.

What I wanted was something like attached. Although the distance is set at whatever length, I thought that I should still have real putting feel to it.
Is it because of a possibility of the putting mat getting damaged due to the reflection of the ball?

What do you guys recommend for the putting mat?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on which sim you have. The launch monitors have to have the ball within a certain fixed area. This fixed area is larger on some sims than others. Some GC2 users have a putting surface near the edge of the FOV so that they have a nice surface to putt on. GSA users can set up a putting area anywhere from a few inches to 2 feet in front of the hitting mat. This allows you to have a nice uniformed surface to putt on. The only downside is that it would have to be black and non reflective as this system uses an overhead camera for speed and direction. My GSA putting surface is actually automotive carpeting. It rolls true and is non reflective.
