DIY Divot Action

I am planning to build my own divot action mat and have read some threads on here about that.

My only questions:
1) What thickness of mat do you recommend (e.g. 1/2 inch thick, 3/8 inch thick)?
2) Where can I purchase this mat? Seems like every mat I look at is too thick.

I was thinking of using double-sided carpet tape to hold the mat to the lexan. How did you do it?

I think some have used the gorilla glue epoxy.

i wonder if it is possible to re-use the lexan after the mat wears out? Can you peel the mat off when using the epoxy?

I doubt it. I think the double sided tape would be better option of trying to reuse the lexan. However with the cost of the lexan being fairly cheap it may not be worth it anyway.

Obviously I used glue. Like wbond said it's cheap so I didn't worry about re-use.

I've used contact cement on mine which has allowed me to peel off the turf, when necessary. It does leave residue from the turf backing after peeling it off, but it didn't cause any issues when I applied a new piece. I find that the gel formula contact cement tends to work better as it allows you to put it on a little thicker and fill any voids in the turf backing.

Thanks for the pics. What kind of foam did you use? It looks like that stuff from the 2 foot by 2 foot exercise or anti-fatigue mats.
