I'm looking to build a DIY hitting platform but since I am left handed and my sons are right handed, I need to build something that will work for all of us. The first picture below is the idea I am going for and the second picture is a drawing I did to convert it into a solution that will work for both left and right handed people. I like the idea of the DIY Magstrike but would like some recommendations on the hitting strip to use. Please recommend away. Thanks.

Anyone used either of these hitting strips? If so, what are your thoughts?- JR Mats 1.25" Thick: https://www.ebay.com/itm/12-x-24-Com...042?rmvSB=true
- Country Club Elite 1.75" Thick: https://www.amazon.com/Country-Club-...g%2Bstrip&th=1

a lot of people here use the cce. however, if you take big divots, you might end up with some elbow pain. I would stay away from the ebay mat. the first and third pictures don't even appear to be the same mat. the third picture looks like a cheap $20 mat but even if the first picture is what you're getting, it still looks inferior to the likes of true strike, fiberbuilt, cce, divot action, etc. search the forum for some great diy ideas. wbond posted a very interesting thread on mats. he made his own version of all of the best available hitting surfaces to compare.

I have a full size Duffer hitting mat and it is essentially the same thing as the CCE but the pile height of the turf fibers are shorter. Very well made commercial mat. JR Mats sells the Duffer and the Real Feel CCE. I do not believe that the CCE would be a good fit for the DIY Magstrike, but wbond would be better to respond to this. He has used the CCE and knows all about it.
