I had one of these mats and got rid of it. The mat is very unforgiving especially if some one has more of a sweeping swing. It also caused hand pain for me after playing. It catches the club so hitting a wood off the turf was difficult as well. I took the plunge and bought a true strike....expensive, but worth it to me.

I purchased an All Turf Mat about 5 years ago. At the time it was called the Monster Tee model sold by AllTurf Mats. but looks just like this one.
It had served me very well. It gets 3-4x per week use all winter here in WI. Still in good shape... its thick and much nicer than a cheap thin mat or a crappy well used range mat. Feels a lot like hitting off real turf in my opinion... only criticism is that its maybe a little too soft or could be slightly more dense. Yes, it can hold a wooden tee.. but just barely, and sometimes I have to poke the tee around a few different spots to get it to balance/stay in place when there is the weight of a ball on it.
All in all a good value for the price. I must admit though, I am looking for a new matt. Its just a little squishier than I prefer, and it is 5 yrs old, so just beginning to wear in my most frequent hitting area.. and just want to try something new.
I dont think youd be unhappy with it though, and I certainly never had any pain hitting on it, nor have I ever felt that my club hits hard on the surface underneath... it very cushiony.

I have this mat and while it's convenient to be able to put a tee in, it will punish the heck out of you if you hit fat shots. I guess it could help you hit the ball better in the long run. It's very durable, I've had mine since June of 2016 and it looks brand new still. It's just squishy and punishes fat shots by devouring your club head into the squishy turf
