  • Tile to turf transition help

I'm nearing the the end of the my golf simulator room build. Preston from Par2Pro is coming out this upcoming Thursday to install the screen, turf, projector etc. What I just noticed is the 1" underlay he sent, along with the putting green turf(3/4") is one hell of a jump up from tile. There will be a fringe around the permiter that is 1.25". Is there a nice way that can be tucked and fit just as regular carpet? or should I have my carpenter make me a nice threshold to match the door to make that transition smoother. The door swings in the room to the left. I'm already going to have to plane the door a good 3/4" - 1".

Any pictures or ideas would be great. I'm sure people have ran into this issue before. Attached is a photo of the entry.

They sell may different height thresholds at HD, Lowes or flooring stores. You should be able to find one there pretty easily.

I'm a carpenter. I recommend making a threshold. They sell them at Home Depot but the thickness will likely not work. There is really no other way. If you remove that much of the door you'll likely need to remove the bottom insert of the door and re glue it.
