I'm interested in what everyone is using for a ball tray. I'm sure many probably use the tray that came with their hitting mat kit. I built my own hitting surface though and will probably just make a ball tray with the leftover plywood but I thought I'd ask for some feedback in case there's some other cool solution I don't know about.

Same. $75 and up for a rubber tray is insane.Originally posted by frodaddy00 View PostI briefly looked into getting a ball tray but I was surprised they were not cheap. I was expecting to pay like $20 but instead they seem to start around $75 so I stopped looking. If anybody finds a reasonably priced one I'd be interested too.
I am using golf ball boxes until I find a good rubber tray for $30 with free shipping!

I have a few extra ball trays. When Golfsmith went under I bought a fiberbuilt mat at an online auction, and when I went to pick it up they threw in four or five ball trays. The problem is that shipping them is going to be expensive because of their size. I just went on USPS and it would be around $50 to ship one of them via ground. Amazon has one for $30 and another one for $40

How do you like it? Would you buy it again? I was looking at getting this so I can rotate through more balls when I play.

That's an option I was interested in so I'm glad to hear you like it.Originally posted by BGCurtis2nd View PostI use a Callaway Pro Caddie Ball Dispenser, picked one up on eBay for about $20, when you are done hitting you can use it to pickup the balls.
The trays I looked at on Amazon seemed underwhelming for the price. I would just make one with leftover wood before buying one of those.

Unless you have a really long distance from hitting area to screen what do you need a ball tray for? Just rake the same ball back into position and/or tee it up again. Simulators are not like a outside range where the balls are hit far away.

This may come as a shock but everyone else's setup is not just like yours. If I could just conveniently rake the same ball back while watching my shot this would probably be a non issue. It turns out that I'm hitting into a net that eats up the balls and not a screen that it rebounds off so it's much more convenient to hit a bunch of balls and just go shag them out of the net. My hitting surface is also raised 1.5" off the floor so even if I didn't have to dig the balls out of the net it's not a flat surface back to my hitting area that I can just drag the ball back to. As such I was looking for a tray with a raised front edge so I can just rake a ball into the hitting area. Thanks for the input though.Originally posted by Ronsc1985Unless you have a really long distance from hitting area to screen what do you need a ball tray for?
