Hey all! I'm brand new here. I just picked up golf again at the age of 33. I played a lot as a kid and I even played valhalla about 50 times as a teenager as I was a caddy there during high school. I wish I was as interested in being good at golf when I was 12 as I am now lol.
Anyways, I'm trying to setup a pretty low cost winter practice area in my garage. So I need to get a net, stance mat, hitting pads, as I love the idea of different impact mats like the diy gel pad and the divot action mats- and i'd like a pad that works well with using regular tees (or maybe you all recommend using something else- anything besides the rubber tees please) and I'm going to try an inexpensive swing analyzer like the Skypro or one of the others.
So has anyone tried the Sklz glide pad? they can be had for $80 on ebay right now. I was originally looking into the fairwaypro divot pad and stance pad- but It seems like $150 for a pad to stand on is quite a bit. I know they go way up from there. Lets just assume I cant get a good stance pad from a local range.
Anyone have any recommendations on setting up an inexpensive hitting pad (maybe one that I could cut some foam out of the bottom and put a motorcycle gel pad into- and line up next to one of the moving divot action pads- AND have a tee of area?
I guess I'm also going to need suggestions for a net and anti bounce materials!
I have been searching for a while- it just seems that some of this turf and the nets are ridiculously overpriced. Which makes me worry more about less expensive options. Golf can be that way though. I am definitely probably not wealthy enough to play golf, but I love it.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
