I am building a custom stance mat to go with my Fiberbuilt hitting strip. Looking for some recommendations for turf you guys have used for stance mats/areas that you really like.
I thought the Premium Ultimate Tee mat from allturfmats.com would be a good one but I just received it and I hate it. First of all, their website says it is 2 inches thick, which is the perfect height to pair with a Fiberbuilt hitting strip. But is blatantly not true, it's barely 1.5 inches thick. It also feels way too mushy to stand on, sort of like if you stood on a soggy fairway.
At this point, I pretty much figure what I need to do is buy some turf and build it up with plywood, MDF, and foam tiles to the height I want.
Any recommendations for turf?
Also, i'm building a 4x4 mat so if anyone has a good recommendation for a premade 4x4 stance mat that I could build up, that would be good too.
