  • FiberBuilt - Double vs Single

Looking at the prices of the fiberbuilt mats a double mat (4'x9') for lefties and righties with a single center strike area is more than two 4'x5' single sided mats. The money is in the strike area right? If you have the room why wouldn't you double up with the single pads to accommodate lefties and righties, putting them down with the strike areas next to each other, vs going with the already built mat? Then if you start to get wear on one you just swap them around? Has anybody done this with their build?

I’m still debating why I would buy the double mat for $1200 vs the single mat for $500 each.

Actually the Performance singles are $469 at Amazon.
Both state Performance stance mat system so not the commercial mats. The double does have 1×4 hitting area but that wouldn't account for the price difference. Maybe some people like just one mat.

I can’t figure it out either. If you buy two singles you get a lot more hitting area for your money. They look like they are the same material and construction, less the 6” on the front and back of the single strike zone.

Well, for $940 vs $1199 it is a no brainer. You get two hitting strips and the same stance area.
