  • Outdoor (non permanent) putting green

Hi. We are looking for a putting green to put on a covered slate patio. Ideally it would be durable enough to be outside (wouldn’t get rained on though because it’s covered. Also no freezing temps in California). Needs to be durable enough so three kids under 7 couldn’t destroy it. Ideally it would be thick enough to roll pretty smooth putts even over some less-than-perfectly flat slate tiles). Prefer big enough to have a couple people putting at the same time. Up to maybe 12x14’ in size.

What are the top choices here? Google search brought me to Birdie Ball and Pro Putt.

I guess I would consider DIY with some sort of wood frame and turf or rubber mat and turf if that was the best way forward, but I’m kinda burned out on house projects lately, so I’d prefer to purchase.

I tried searching here, but it’s tough to narrow down the search terms without getting a zillion hits.

    thoughts?? Thanks!

Find your local Grass-Tex dealer. Largest turf manufacturer in the US. Lots of good options. I can help if you do a diy. I would try to get the stimp speed you are looking for then try to duplicate. You may use infill to control the speed.
