  • Fiberbuilt change their construction?

Finally broke down and upgraded to a Fiberbuilt 4x9 studio mat to go with the new Uneekor. So far I think I'm going to enjoy the feel but not sure I'm digging how it goes together. Seems like in the past I heard of folks talking about zip ties to hold it together, mine came with these rubber interlock pieces that don't seem to hold very well. As i'm hitting, the side I'm standing on starts to pull away from the hitting strip and I have to kick it back into place. I was kind of banking on the heavy mat to stay in place but if one side is moving whats the other doing? I may need to find a better way to connect all the pieces, anyone else have a new FB mat experiencing similar issues?

Other interesting thing that is a by product of the mat moving, the shiny metal strip exposes and it messes with the Uneekor camera. I had to put black tape over the metal.

I have the same setup. My mat in on a concrete garage floor. I have not had any stability issues with the mat on either side. I will say that the installation with the rubber interlock pieces was a bit finicky. I had to adjust the sections several times to get all of the interlock pieces properly seated. I guess the first thing would be to check that everything is properly aligned and seated.

I'm on a thin commercial carpet which might be why I am slipping. I may try either weaving zip ties in with the rubber connectors or actually screwing a piece of L metal along the long edges.
