Would those who have successfully treated their outer elbow pain be willing to share what it took? I am not looking to change mats yet, sticking with my Fiberbuilt. Going on about 6 months in one elbow, 3 months into the other. Would prefer not to stop entirely to wait until it goes away. I have been using the Theraband and icing after practice. Couple of doctors I spoke with said it eventually clears up, but can take up to a year, go ahead and keep playing but try to really change up clubs a lot during range time. Any success storiesq would be appreciated.

I hit a shit ton of balls and got it in my right elbow really bad using cce. Switched to fiberbuilt and the elbow got better in a month or 2. The cce was hard on my right elbow and my back. However now I have it in my left elbow and I get some relief with ice but it's just not getting better or worse. I've really limited my play too. Frustrating. Heat doesn't help and I may have overdone it with dmoose but it made mine worse but helps some people.
Very frustrated

I got it in my left elbow and saw a specialist, he called it tennis elbow and it’s mainly my age, 45, and there was some tissue that takes about 6-9 months to “tear” and it would go away. It was a miserable 6-9 months but he was correct. Of course then it transferred to the right, but same deal and now no issues...

Definitely get this Theraband and do the exercises... It stretches that tendon out way better than just holding your hand down... This really improved my tennis elbow... I also ended up getting SASTM treatments at a chiropractor where they take these plastic tools and scrape the crap out of your forearm... Apparently breaks up the scar tissue on the tendon... It will look like someone hit you with a hammer but these two things cured mine after 6 years...

I should clarify... I had been experiencing pain with tennis elbow for six years on and off... After doing the Theraband exercises and SASTM treatments for a couple of months it was basically gone... I have a Quad and it shows I've hit 30,000 balls since I got it in August of last year and my tennis elbow hasn't flared up yet... (I also use a fiberbuilt mat specifically to lesson the impact on my elbow)

I had it real bad last summer. I followed the therapy tips from these guys and used some high octane CDB Oil and it cleared up in 3 months all the while still hitting balls. The stretching exercises are a must!

I started doing the exercises they suggested and it's already feeling much better. Especially the one about rubbing the tendon area in a direction perpendicular to the muscle fibers. I'm hopeful it will help...Last edited by s0707; 03-31-2020, 03:14 AM.

In case it's of any help to anyone, I just got back from an appointment with a well-respected sports chiropractor. He said that because my pain is very focused at the small joints of my outer elbows, and I don't have pain in the muscles leading to the joint, it's less likely tendonitis and more likely a sprain of the ligaments that hold the joint together. This is apparently surrounded by a joint capsule that limits blood flow to the area. He said to stay away from ice since there is little inflammation, go with moist heat only. He didn't recommend laying off hitting, but very gradual warmup is essential, recommends Theraband and the usual stretching exercises. He said it can take six months to heal with proper warmup and heat treatment. But at least I get to keep hitting!

Modifying this since I saw him again and I misunderstood the first time. Since this is a ligament injury (sprain) rather than tendon, he said to ice after repetitive exercise of the area (even for computer work after 50 minutes), for 15 minutes each time, and to apply moist heat a few times during the day, maybe even before exercise. Any stretching or therapeutic exercise should only be the extent that I don't feel pain in the joint. OK to hit balls but stretch and warm up before, and stop when feel any tightness or pain, he prefers not to wear a brace, since I need to strengthen the joint area. Hope this helps some of you.
