  • rubber tees vs wood tees

Looking at various mats and I see a few like the Gorilla one on Amazon and Country Club Elite that allow you to use real tees without a rubber tee holder. Some fo the others like DuraPro and Quattro have the cutouts for use with either rubber tees or the tee holders. Is one better than the other or is it really just a preference thing?

Do a search on here and find out what everyone uses. Many use birtees r tomahawk tees, neither wooden or plastic thru mat. I use tomahawk held by a tee claw. Lots of info in forum if u search

Personally I liked the idea of a mat that would take a wooden/plastic tee but in reality it doesn't work that well. They fly all over the place usually behind you somewhere and get lost. You are better off with one of the sit on top tees (birtee, tomahawk) or install an adjustable rubber tee such as those sold by Fiberbuilt.

I agree, I was using a mat that accepted real tees and it worked well but got annoying chasing them all over my garage. I now use real (plastic lasts much longer than wood) tees stuck into a tee claw with the lanyard fixed to my hitting area wall and it works great.

I went to BirTees, (and I'm glad I did) but when I was using real tees I would find them in the weirdest places which was sometimes kind of amusing.

I use the rubber tees that go under the mat and through the hole. But I don't put them under the mat. I just set it right on top. It usually flies into the screen along with the ball.
