Looking at various mats and I see a few like the Gorilla one on Amazon and Country Club Elite that allow you to use real tees without a rubber tee holder. Some fo the others like DuraPro and Quattro have the cutouts for use with either rubber tees or the tee holders. Is one better than the other or is it really just a preference thing?

Personally I liked the idea of a mat that would take a wooden/plastic tee but in reality it doesn't work that well. They fly all over the place usually behind you somewhere and get lost. You are better off with one of the sit on top tees (birtee, tomahawk) or install an adjustable rubber tee such as those sold by Fiberbuilt.

I agree, I was using a mat that accepted real tees and it worked well but got annoying chasing them all over my garage. I now use real (plastic lasts much longer than wood) tees stuck into a tee claw with the lanyard fixed to my hitting area wall and it works great.Originally posted by frodaddy00 View PostPersonally I liked the idea of a mat that would take a wooden/plastic tee but in reality it doesn't work that well.
