    Please help a beginner out...

So right now we´re building a indoor setup for practice. I´ve got nearly everything sorted out except for a good mat. So so difficult.
We tried a cheaper one from ebay but thats not holding up, especially with the speed and quantity of the shots my brother hits - must also consider him since he is a really good player

I saw a few different setups here and there already but I dont know whats best. I see people who0 stand on mats but with different inserts infront of them - wonder if its possible to only have such an insert or strip that is a little bit in the ground and just stand on the normal ground, carpet etc.

People who stand and hit from a mat... but then again which one is best(quattro, fiberbuilt,..)?

And what did you use around the mat? carpet or turf, something else?
Help a brother out. Also based in Europe, Germany if anybody knows where to order.

    Thanks in advance!

I've been really happy with the All Turf "Super Tee" 48" x 60" golf mat. It accepts a real tee, allows you to hit down and through on iron shots, and penalizes for chunked shots realistically. You can still pick one up from Amazon.com at a fair price: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004R5POJ6...v_ov_lig_dp_it

I also like being able to stand and hit from the same surface and 48" x 60" allows me to do so comfortably. I used the following product around my hitting surface and have been happy with this as well: https://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Runne...2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

    Good luck and have fun!

I purchased the Quattro and am amazed at the feel. Penalizes with a chunked shot, but feels excellent when you hit down on it correctly. So far, I have no major complaints at all. If I'm being picky, I would like it to be able to hold a real tee (not that big of a deal since it does have pre-drilled holes for tees). I just got it and have probably hit 300 balls on it and curious to see how the stance/hit sections maintain durability. My concern is that they start to lose their firmness. I plan to reduce that possibility by rotating the mat (5x5) often. But with feel being the utmost concern for me, this has been a big winner for me.
