  • Artificial grass for sim room

Hi, curious as to whether anybody has bought artificial grass off Alibaba or similar sites?

Or in the UK, is there any cheap alternatives to spending 500 pound to cover my sim room?

    Thanks!

I used Turf Factory Direct out of Georgia and they were fantastic. Super quick shipping and very reasonable prices.

I used grasswarehouse.co.uk for my garage sim. Was fairly cheap, mainly for aesthetics and to cushion the ball landing on the concrete floor.

        Hi James

I went for "Lunar" - it was an off-cut so slightly cheaper than ordering the exact size.
Its holding up fine in my garage, if i was to do it again i would think about perhaps something underneath it to soften slightly as i laid it directly on the concrete garage floor. But not major at all.

I have the the Tee Turf Mat directly on top for hitting from.

I made a quick YouTube video - check it out here if you like that sort of thing. I love it lol

Thanks for the reply mate. I just checked out your video and subscribed

My shed is going to be 7m x 4m so the cost comes in at around 220 for the AG. Out of curiosity , do you wish you had something underneath the turf because you have the tee turf mat and there is no base underneath it? Because I have a mat with a rubber base so if I could skip this step and save some money I'd be happy.

        Cheers mate

Not soo much for underneath the mat as that works well. More for a softer feel underfoot and softer landing towards the impact screen. the ball bounces a little off the grass but not a biggie at all. Similar to laying a carpet i suppose - underlay gives you that softer more spongy effect but not a necessity. I also only turfed from the screen to the mat not the whole garage. Cant see so much on camera but the bare floor is visible from mat to garage door if that makes sense. so i need to cover at some point with more grass or a carpet of some sort.

Have you checked local first? My biggest concern would be shipping costs. Perhaps you could get something better locally once you factor in the price of shipping?

Not as much as I would like to, given current circumstances! Will definitely have a look more but from what I’ve seen, very pricey!

Look at Outdoor Carpet can be cheaper. I am looking at covering the front half of my garage which would be 4m x 2m and I will sit my mat behind this. Look at this site: £48 for my size

This Light Green Outdoor Carpet is suitable for stages, children play areas, patios and many more . Available to purchase today at Grass247. Free Fast Delivery!

I may do the same thing, or just cover the whole shed with it , to keep up the them. Either way I will definitely have a look at this aswell, thanks for your help!
