  • DivotAction? Anyone try this manufacturer?

So like many of you, I'm always watching different YouTube golfers/influencers, because I can never get enough... I was watching Mr.ShortGame and he had a guy come out from Florida to his home in Georgia, to install the turn in what will be his new golf simulator area. The guy who came out created a DivotAction hitting strip and complimenting simulated 1st cut, rough, and sand for the simulator environment. I was interested and decided to check out his website...
    https://www.customdesigngolf.com/divotactiontrade-mats.html

Now, I'm a fiberbuilt user and I am satisfied, but am always thinking about potential replacements for the future. The Sand simulation surface is something I've never seen before, but not somethinga I'd buy at this point... I'm curious if anyone has purchased the regular hitting strip and what their impressions are? Price seems relatively good considering some of the prices we have seen for replacement fiberbuilt strips, true strike, etc...

So it took a while to get the enclosure built... but it was completed. I was able to test out the divot action mat with the short cut insert. The turf is very thick and surprisingly heavy. The short cut is very comfortable to hit off of and I've had no pain as the divot action is very forgiving. The main problem I've experienced is that the divot action mat slips a little after each hit. I found a post on these forums with some suggestions on solving that problem by putting a carpet pad and tape under it. Those will arrive Wednesday night. More soon.

To complete the thread -- the carpet pad worked great at preventing the DivotAction mat from slipping while using it.

Brettster , here is video of me hitting my 56 degree wedge on the short cut, then switching out the short cut for the Sand Action insert. Then you get to see my first few shots... which do look a lot like my real sand shots... but I'm not sure yet if it's good or I just suck at bunkers

schwame - I get 'No video with supported format and MIME type found.' and cannot see the video (or Specified Bucket does not exist at AmazonAWS). Any chance you could place that on YouTube? Thanks...

Same problem schwame - can you please copy / paste the link and placing it in a new thread post here as a link? There is either something wrong with how you're linking to it, or the spaces in your name are not coming through correctly - and both of those issues can be fixed if you use the [Link] (chain link icon) top/left of the box when you create a new reply (bottom of this page) - I don't think you can add it into a comment. Thanks.

For those asking for video, I believe Mr. short game has some videos in the last month of his new set up that includes these mats.

I tried the divot action mat today and must say I am very impressed. I had the old divot action mat and it was good but didn’t hold up well. Their new strike mat is solid and I love the feel of it. After all these years I think the divot action mat will displace my trusty Fiberbuilt insert. Not quite throwing the FB away yet however!

Bubba22 Agree with you completely, I just inserted my FB a month ago, but already know what I am going to replace it with when it goes.

Yes Dax, I agree. The FB mat is very good, like j said, I am not getting rid of it anytime soon. So far the divot action is holding up well. I am going to order the first cut and rough to test if out.

I bought the divot action mat from customdesigngolf and had it shipped to the UK. Much better on the wrists - check out what it looks like and a slow mo of it in action below

I think I'm going to grab this insert as well but curious what others are doing about using a tee. Assume you're placing it to one side of the insert into the "other" mat for tee shots, and then hitting irons/wedges off the divot action insert?

InwouldI just use a Birdie tee. They work well, just don’t like having to go around and pick them up.
