  • Dual insert idea

From what I gathered reading through the forum and mat reviews is that the most popular mat is the Fiberbuilt. But the main complaint with it is that its too forgiving on fat shots (even though thats why its so easy on the joints at the same time).

The mat that is most punishing on fat shots is the real feel CCE mat. But also worst on the joints.

Has anyone thought of a setup where CCE strip behind the Fiberbuilt strip and ball right on the edge of the fiberbuilt close to the CCE? That way if you hit a fat shot with iron it will hit CCE and if you hit after the ball you will go through?

Would love to hear ideas and see pics of setups.

Fiberbuilt is definitely less punishing on fat shots... But you can still feel that you hit it fat. You probably won't run the risk of developing bad habits. Trying to place the ball right on a joint probably won't work for the long term. That joint will be chewed up in no time! If you want both, I would suggest using Fiberbuilt for sim play, and use CCE once in awhile to reinforce that you're contacting ball first.

Yes. Its less punishing, but at the same time it takes off some distance.. Albeit not as bad as a real bad chunk like on a CCE.
