  • Garage Floor

Ok, I am somewhat confused. I am planning my build and thinking about flooring. My question revolves around attaching the turf. What I think I understand is I should use a rubber mat on top of the concrete, but then do I tape/glue the turf to that? Also, sounds like cutting out a section for a hitting strip makes sense, how is that secured?

For reference, I have a space that is 11x20 and plan to us the back 1/3rd as a small gym (sim flooring ends ~12-13 ft, hitting ~10ft from the screen).

    Thanks in advance!

Think a lot depends on whether space will be dedicated solely to sim/gym or will you need flexibility to park cars in as well from time to time.

There's no real need to glue it down. If it's a large roll of turf that covers the entire sim area, you're going to have the enclosure and everything else weighing it down. Plus a large section of turf is not easy to move. Stuff is pretty heavy.

There's also no real need to cut out anything for your mat. Just put the mat right on top and there's some threads about how to prevent it from sliding around. And that will be one more thing to weigh down the turf as well.

Good info, it will be a dedicated sim, really just putting a foldable rack at the back end of the garage. So basically sounds like the weight of the turf should be enough. Thank you!!
