  • The difference of fiberbuilt hitting strips?

From my research here I have decided to go with a fiberbuilt insert for my hitting mat.

I am just trying to figure out the difference between the 2 options below, are they the same product just a different size? I figure I would need a 12x12 not an12x36?

The standalone Fiberbuilt Grass hitting panel is a replacement component for our Fiberbuilt Grass Series Hourglass Pro Mats and is 35″ long and 11.75" wide. (Note: this is a standalone hitting panel and does not include a stance mat or rubber base.) 11.75" x 35" (nominal sizing) Fiberbuilt Grass Hitting Surface On-Cour

    thanks!

Everyone has their own preference. Plenty of people like each. I prefer the Truestrike hitting surface because FB seems "bristle-ey" and I feel like the ball sits up too much.

It would appear the second link is just 1/3 the size and 1/3 the price.

Do you know or anyone else know where else you can buy the insert from besides fiberbuilt or par2pro? Par2Pro is sold out and Fiberbuilt only sells the 3 foot section. Anyone know where else you can buy it from or get smaller strips? Thanks!

Yes I figure it’s the same product based on that but wasn’t 100 percent sure I guess I can call fiberbuilt Monday they would know

i was only hoping fiberbuilt as I heard chance of injury is a lot less that’s my main concerns as my body is a mess lol

I've got both and I no longer hit off the TrueStrike. It's hard as a rock and not good for elbows. Didn't seem like the gel was noticeable at all and build quality wasn't very good either. I only use the Fiberbuilt now (same product as your first link) and between that and switching to graphite shafts, I haven't had any elbow at all. Good luck.

I’m going to get a fiberbuilt and going to also try a divotaction but seems like fiberbuilt will be best

I am, but you're looking at close to $50 if not more just to ship the portable mat (gel strip and borders). PM me if you're interested.

I emailed Par2Pro about this last year when I was buying, and this was their response:

Fiberbuilt told us that there were no longer going to sell panels to the general public (just replacements for Fiberbuilt customers only), so we purchased a large bulk order and are the only ones warehousing and selling the single panels.

I have several used, but in good shape 12" square Fiberbuilt panels I'd sell for a reasonable price. If interested please PM me. I have five "fairway" style and one each "rough" and "sand".

For hitting strips in general do you need to have something under them or can it go right on say hardwood flooring

i just don’t want to use the Matt in same spot then move in a few years to see damage to the flooring

Fiberbuilt inserts have a hard plastic base to which the fibers are attached. I think you would want something underneath them. I had mine mounted to 3/4" thick partical board and recessed in the floor.

Ok I was thinking a carpet liner or something thin under it to be safe

ibhear divot action provides a plastic sheet that sits under there insert but i feel the plastic may damage the floor potential so probably safest to use a rug runner or something that won’t wear too easily
