Planning my new build and wondering if anybody could answer a question about surrounding floor height for hitting strip. I would like a level surface to the screen but in doing research realized different hitting strips and stance mats have different thicknesses. Seeing that the firebuilt mat is the thickest at 2”, my plan was to built the surrounding floor to 2”. My thought is that I could always shim up a thinner mat. Thanks to all who have posted as I have learned so much and could not take this DIY build on without all the invaluable information from this forum.
