  • Fiberbuilt Mat Height

Hoping someone can help me. I ordered a Fiberbuilt 9'x4' Center-Hitting Studio Mat. I have gotten mixed answers on the height of the mat. I have seen 2 inches and 1 7/8 inch on this site. The website I bought it from said the height is 3 inches, which threw me off being a lot different than what I saw on this site and other places. I’ve left a couple voicemails for Fiberbuilt and sent a couple emails but haven’t gotten a response. I know they are backed up because the wait time on my mat was 3-4 weeks for them to ship it out.

I am trying to plan out the rest of the floor and I want the putting green turf to be level with the hitting mat. I had been planning on 2 inches until the website told me 3 inches.

Does anybody have the 9x4 or know the height of the mat? Thanks so much! This site has been incredible in helping with my build.

I’ve got the single sided version...5x4

Stance mat itself is about 1” thick. The hitting strip part sits a little lower in the tray. Measuring from the bottom of the tray to the top surface of the mat/strip when it’s all assembled, I’d call it 2 inches.

Are you for some reason doubting the picture posted showing the mat and showing the ruler next to it? If so, I can confirm that the measurement is accurate.

It is a shade over 2 inches tall - total height (including the black rubber base pieces + grass/hitting strip). I would say the above picture from Fit2Win is pretty darn accurate - 2.3" high. Definitely not 3 inches high!

I have the 10x4 mat and the height shown with the ruler is correct. The hitting strip is elavated and the mats need elevation to match it. Just replace the strip with the Divot Action and be much happier. The broom brush is not worth keeping as it is injurious in spite of their marketing.

I still haven’t gotten my mat in yet, apparently they are back ordered. I went with the measurement Fit2Win sent and have planned everything based off that measurement. I think that’s about as accurate as we could ask for with the ruler picture. Thanks again Fit2Win for sending that!

I see everyone posting to use 1” Foamular or 1” EVA foam mats for landing area and then turf or menards carpet or Home Depot grizzly carpet. After reading this post I’m curious if the landing area should be built up even further in order to be even with hitting mat. Thoughts?
