  • Transition and edging of turf

I’ve looked for some posts on this and haven’t seen any.

My sim is in a finished basement with 20x20 tile flooring. It is against 2 walls with 2 sides exposed. I am laying TFD turf on 1/2” foam tiles.

I am debating on using fringe turf around the perimeter or just using the putting turf alone.

Either way I end up with an exposed edge that I want to finish off. With the putting turf it’s 3/4” thick with the fringe turf it’s 1 1/2” thick

I’ve looked online and talked to outfits that sell rubber transition stuff etc but can’t find something that will suit my needs. I’m am not drilling or stapling anything into the tile. At most I’ll use two sided tape.

Does anyone have any ideas/pics of how this edge can be made to look finished?

Free bump for you. I'm in the market to do the same thing and haven't found any good ideas yet... I'll let you know if I do.

Another bump. I have CCE which is now a stance mat. I recently cut in Fiberbuilt strip. Ideally wanting a better putting setup and looking for options.

Have the same predicament. I'm going to try this out: https://kofflersales.com/pdf/Roppe-R...rsales-com.pdf

Looks like you can also call Roppe and get samples.

I think if I cut the rubber tiles short so the turf overhangs by ~2" and use some double-sided tape to adhere the turf to this edging and then some velcro dots from the edging to my carpet floor, will provide a nice, smooth transition without seeing the raw turf edge. The turf will show a little above the edge, but should still look much nicer than the raw edge.

This looks like something that would leave a nice finished edge. I will try it as well

Having this same issue with this in my head for my future build. Looking/thinking about options. I have considered taking a 1'x1'x1" pad and grinding the slope to zero for my 1" fringe turf. Not sure how well that would work with that EVA foam. Also considered buying 1/4" EVA foam mats and cutting them in 3" strips, then gluing them in a stair-stepped pattern to go around the edge. Another option would be to rip down 1x4's to the same height as the backing of the fringe turf, painting/staining, and double-sided tape to help hold it in place. This option would obviously not slope down to be even with the rest of the floor, but still have a finished look. Has anyone done anything like this? My future build will be 16' wide and 16' deep in the center of a 24'x30' room and I wanted to find a way to make the edge looked finished.
