  • How To Cut Putting Turf?

I just got a large roll of putting turf in and I need to make two 10 foot cuts. I was wondering what you guys have used to cut straight lines. I was planning on using a laser line and a box cutter. Is there a better option, I really need the line as straight as possible. TIA!

When you are cutting make sure to use a 4' or so level as a straight edge so the blade doesn't wander.

I used this knife from Lowes instead of my other utility knives (box cutter style). Worked well for me.
Shop kobalt 11-blade folding utility knife in the utility knives section of Lowes.com

the turf has grooves already.... use a rule to make a softcut if you want but you should be fine... I did mine.

I tried many different knives and ended up using a shar pair of scissors. Following a straight line made with a straight edge on the back side of the turf. Very easy to cut if the scissors are sharp.

I drew a line with a sharpie against a 6ft straight edge piece of metal I picked up at Ace. Then, I used scissors. It will be a cleaner cut if the material is thin enough to cut (mine was thin Grizzly Grass).
