  • Flooring in front of the screen

Good afternoon all. I have just recently finished building my garage enclosure. It 1" emt with a Carl's impact screen. My questions is the flooring between the impact screen and hitting area. I am in my garage so the balls bounce when hitting the ground. I have but for now, foam squares but they do not dampen the bounce back.
I would ask like to know options on adding impact screen behind that screen to further soften the ball. I have thought about moving pads but have read they dyes come off on the screen. Is this the case? What does everyone else have or use behind their main screen?

Thanks for any and all help. I will post some pics of it when I am completed. My set up folds up so that I can park cars in the garage.

What I did to prevent balls from bouncing was to build a 6 ft long by 24 inch wide by 9 inch high frame using 3/4 inch pvc and then lined the frame with a 6 ft by 8 ft carpet from Home Depot the carpet is draped so it forms a basket and is the same color as the flooring between the screen and the hitting mat. I place the rectangular ball catcher an inch in front of the screen and it catches all the balls coming off the screen.

I have a more permanent setup in the garage and use 1" thick, 2'X2' interlocking gym mat's covered by grass carpet. A lob wedge shot will hit high on screen, fall and bounce about 18" high and then die.

Thanks for the advice. I have gotten the gym mats but just got some grass turf that I’m going to roll out and see if that helps. My Matt’s might not be thick enough or dense enough.
