  • Flooring start

So I’m trying to figure out the best option for an 11x21 space and flooring. I just bought a fiberbuilt strip to force me to move so want to figure out the rest.

Plan is to have some sort of rubber mat cover the whole area and then for 10-11 ft have the hitting strip cut in and surrounded by turf on top (back have would be a small workout area)

I’ve thought of horse stall mat pull-ups some other build up or the MMA mats ( jerry3 is their hype man I’m convinced haha). I don’t really want to spend $900 on just the rubber floor, and the horse mat I don’t like that it’s not smooth (https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...bber-stall-mat) for the back half.

Any suggestions knowing I want the from half to have the strip and be level with the turf, and the back half to be a smooth rubber without spending $900 on just the base? I’ve thought EVA, but worried about durability. Thanks for any help!

A lot of people use the EVA mats that you mentioned (myself included). No issues with durability. Maybe if you have heavy weight equipment on them, but for the golf sim part at least they work great. A lot of people use this as a base and then lay down some turf over top.

one thing to consider is that it is ok if the fiberbuilt is a bit taller than your turf, you'll barely notice and it will barely affect your golf shots if at all. I guarantee if we had a similar lie outdoors we'd all be very pleased lol.

Similarly if your fiberbuilt is below the surface of your stance/putting area, it's very easy to put something below the hitting strip to build the height up a bit (carpet pad or other foams are cheap and easy)
