  • Landing Mat

    Hi all,

I am in the process of picking out all of the components for my sim build. I have already purchased a Par2Pro stealth screen, Quattro hitting mat, and BenQ projector. I plan on ordering a SkyTrak soon.

The one thing I am currently struggling with is the landing mat. I will be setting up the simulator in my garage on concrete. I want it to be moveable so I can park my truck in there so I would prefer something I can just roll up when not in use and I don't want to put matts underneath it.

How thick of landing mat would you recommend directly over concrete to prevent the balls from bouncing all around? I ordered a sample of this from Amazon.

It stops the ball well but it is also going to stop any putt as soon as it rolls off the hitting mat. Would I be better off going with the thin turf from Home Depot? I am not sure how well that will stop the ball from bouncing but it would definitely putt better.

I have a similar setup in garage over concrete, although mine is essentially permanent. I also have a Quattro mat. I used 1" gym mat's under Home Depot grass carpet to complete the floor around the quattro mat. Putts roll smooth across the transition. It's a cheap solution. You'll have to decide whether acceptable for "moveable".

Thanks for the response. Just one question on your Quattro mat. What did you end up using for tees?

I use the sanha tee for driver (https://www.justritegolftee.com/order.htm) and I cut down a simple white rubber tee for 3w, 5w, & irons. One of the reasons I like the Quattro having 2 holes on each side. I have my GC2 on a custom slider so the tees are permanent.
