Landing Mats over Carpet

Any ideas for this? It seems that a lot of folks use gym mats but would that work on carpet?

I think the smaller square gym mats would slide around over carpet. Do you need mats if you have carpet? For my set up, I just put down some putting turf over my carpet.

Looking to have the surface flush with my mat, which is 2”.
