Looking at 5x10 hitting mats without foam, just a thin urethane base. There are a few options I’ve looked at so far…Matzilla, Tall Boy Tee Box, AllTurf Premium Super Tee, Launchline Pro. They all seem to have the same theory behind their construction. Anyone with experience with any of these both as a stance and hitting mat? Would I be better off spending double and getting something with a foam backing like fiberbuilt, CCE etc?

"Would I be better off spending double and getting something with a foam backing like fiberbuilt, CCE etc?" YES. Hitting off of a thin mat is going to cause issues with your equipment and your body, and if your hitting mat is thicker, your stance mat needs to be thicker to match the height. To match your hitting mat height you could build your own stance mat out of layers of plywood and then use a thin stance mat, but that's a pain in the rear.
