Anyone have experience with putting on the Fiberbuilt Player preferred series golf mat? Specifically, I'm looking at the combo mat and wondering how putting is when the ball goes from the hitting surface to the putting surface, if you know what I mean. They install cups to the side, but if I want to putt during a simulator round, I would put from the same area that I'm hitting. The hitting area is an insert, so I just want to know if there's a smooth transition from the hitting area to the putting area and if your have owned this combo mat feel free to express any opinions. Thanks.

That's a good question Marty. I am new to all of this and just now buying all of the pieces to put together my simulator. I just received my FB 4'x9' grass mat and was wondering the same thing. I have not done anything with my floor and putting surface yet, but from looking at the pad, it looks like there would be a little bump at the transition. I hope some experienced guys will respond to you, to see what they have found.

I have the player preferred 8' x 4' which I measured to be 1 7/16 in height. I then built the surround to that height and it putts fine. There is a rubber bumper that you roll the ball over and it normally rolls well over it but sometimes it does catch it just right and maybe hop a little. This is probably more a product of my hitting zone being around 6-10"' from that bumper, give or take, so it falls into where the ball begins to truly roll.

So I ended up getting the player preferred 10X12 combo mat and so far I'm very happy with it. It was definitely a bitch to get it, first in my house and down to the basement, and then putting it all together. Took about two hours. I tired a few other high quality mats but I have wall to wall low pile carpet and all the mats I tried shifted over time. This one will not budge, I'm sure of that, and putting works well.

Doesn’t get any better than FB, worth the money and in your case the effort. Appreciate that you have the best mat out there and can swing away!Originally posted by Martyk22 View PostSo I ended up getting the player preferred 10X12 combo mat and so far I'm very happy with it.
