Turf choices in Canada are limited but I found a great site. They supply Ez Tee Hybrid turf , one of the highest rated turfs out there, in various size as small as 1 x 2 and also large ones. They have Free Delivery in Canada which is huge when buying a mat. I bought a 2 x 4 for $210 CA delivered which is really cheap compared to others I looked at. I absolutely love mine. I found my distances are spot on and they weren't with my previous mat. Easy on joints too which is why I bought a new mat. It is about 1 1/8 thick. I get nothing for referring. I just think it is a location that is not talked about in these forums and should be. The site is. yourswing.ca. Check it out.

Thanks for posting this. I placed an order through a dealer from synthetic-turf.ca several days ago. I went with the NP50 putting turf to cover the main hitting area and got a piece that is 6' x 15'. The thing is they charge a $235 shipping fee as well as what's called a short roll core fee which is another $30. Since I was having to pay this huge shipping fee, I decided to get some of the EZ Tee Hybrid Plus as well so I could experiment with using it to make hitting strips. Had to pay the core fee for that as well so total of $60 in fees. Was really expensive in the end, but am hoping this turf will last for several years. The NP50 was $7.77/sq ft and the EZ Tee Hybrid Plus was $12.15/sq ft.
The yourswing site looks like they put the shipping cost into the cost of the items as any of the normal sizes for a hitting mat would run $21.95/sq ft which is quite a bit more than what synthetic-turf was charging. The other thing with synthetic-turf though is that the NP50 comes in a 15' roll and the EZ Tee Hybrid Plus comes in a 12' roll so if you were only wanting a size like 2x4 or 4x6 you would have to still order the 12' and then have them cut it at 2 feet. So you would essentially get three 2x4 mats out of that. I think for the size of the mat you got, then yourswing.ca was the better buy.

Will test it out when I receive it next week. Figure if needed I will toss some gym tiles underneath.
The main complaint I see is that its a little soft so should help firm it up if needed

Your right there isn't much padding underneath but doesn't seem to matter. It still absorbs the shot well. I put so some gym mat underneath. I have had mine now a few weeks and absolutely no joint pain in elbow so really happy with it.

An at home sim is a luxury item, it's a niche market, and most people purchasing them a probably upper middle class or better. The price of some of the hitting mats is insane and we are conditioned to think $400 is cheap because of the market.
The market needs someone like Spornia to come out with an outstanding 5' x 5' mat for $300 or less to match the price point of their outstanding net and it would shake up the industry.

I could buy an expensive launch monitor, try it, hate it, but resell it easily on eBay for a 20% or less loss. That is way less risky IMO than fake grass which could be hard to resell because of shipping.

So far, I am happy with Monster Mat. Only downside is that the fibers shed and it leaves residue on the club. Feels more realistic to me than any of the fluffy tee line mats I have tried or the classic driving range mat.
I have a used hitting strip coming in EZ Tee. So I can see that first hand, try it, and see if that feels any better to me.
