  • Alternate Turf Review - Rymar Bermuda Pro

Living in Montana, getting turf was a bit difficult. Between long distances and high shipping costs we were not sure what my brother and I would end up with. In the end we got samples from Rymar turf, TFD, and 3 or so other companies. Rmar included one called Bermuda Pro Putting Green. We both quickly decided this was our favorite out of 10 we had tried. This included from turf factory direct and a few other much more expensive companies. They cut the two rolls we needed for our sims and shipped quickly to Montana. The turf rolled out great, looks fantastic, puts excellent, cut easy, it has a little squish but not to much, the ball bounces on it nice and rolls back gently to the hitting area. So far I think its about perfect. So for much less then some of the others (3.69/sqft) you get a bit thicker, bit denser, nice two color turf shipped to your house. Highly recommend working with them and this turf. We worked with the group out of Tacoma Washington. Hitting strip is Holy Grail and with 1" matts everything is within a 1/8 of height, probably closer then that.

Son 3d printed custom cups for us as I used 1" rubber matts and my brother used 3/4" due to the height of his garage. The cups turned out and worked awesome.

Are you able to give a stimp estimate on this turf?

Matches a 10 in FSX and a 8-9 in GSPro. I have not put together the parts to test it correctly but that's a pretty good guess. I guess you can add sand and speed it up.

I just received my samples from Rymar and I also liked the Bermuda Pro. I plan on going to their showroom. I plan on a similar setup as you. Inserting a hitting strip (3D Hitting Strip). Seems like you like the turf for a stance Mat and for Putting. I was surprised it doesn’t have a thicker backing material…does the weight keep it from moving around when you swing/twist etc?

I am building a simulator similar to yours. Do you have a pad under the turf? How is the turf holding up?

I have a 1" foam block pad under from Amazon. I am starting to see some foot prints where I stand and swing but otherwise looks like new. I can confirm it stimps closer to 8.

I will ask my son to load it up on thingaverse this evening and I will share the link. He may not get to it for a few days.
