  • Putting Turf that doesn't require Glue or Carpet Tape

Putting Turf question for the subject matter experts in the house. I have read through 34 pages of posts that appear with the search term “Putting Turf” in GSF and I have learned a ton already. Thanks to everyone that has shared their expertise.

What putting turf do you recommend to go on top of a 12’x18’ subfloor buildup in my garage? I would really like turf that will not require glue or tape.

I have found a couple of posts indicating Rymar Bermuda Pro Putting Green and Grass Tex Money Putt have been used without glue or tape. However, I was wondering if there was anyone else willing to share an opinion?

A little more about my subfloor build up plan, it will consist of used 2” rigid insulation 4’x8’ panels https://www.homedepot.com/p/Owens-Co...-45W/100320352 on the garage concrete floor and 1” foam 2’x2’ squares from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7PXYD82...t_details&th=1 on top of that.

So the turf would rest on the foam squares and I will cut in a hitting strip and 4 holes to practice putting. I was also planning to build a rectangle frame around sim out of 2’x4’s or 2’x6’s.

I have the Rymar Bermuda Pro Putting Green in my garage. I used 1" EVA foam interlocking tiles and just laid the turf (1 large piece 14'x18') on top. It worked great and it heavy enough that glue is not required. It lays nice and flat and I would not glue it because you don't need to.

Not sure if it's too low end for what you're looking for. For my setup it's on my basement concrete floor and I built it up with the Amazon foam tiles like you mention although I think I used 3/4" and then batting cage turf on top. The turf came with a thin fabric backer too so a little extra thickness and padding. Turf rolls out over the foam tiles and is heavy enough to stay in place on its own.

I don't do a lot of putting on it but it rolls well enough for my purposes and makes a nice hitting area to play from. I cut out a slot for a Holy Grail hitting strip, so the foam and turf were sized so that everything sits flush and the hitting strip is taped to the concrete floor.

I'm using the money putt with no glue or tape on top of 1" interlocking foam workout tiles. The turf is heavy enough that it lays flat nicely.
