  • Hitting Mat Suggestions

Currently building my simulator in my garage. My ceiling height is 9'6", so I am looking to put in a hitting mat with the least amount of height as needed with the concrete ground that will not cause wrist/elbow issues. Is my best bet to order a higher end single mat? DIY Turf with a cut out for a hitting strip? Do I need foam tiles underneath my mat even with the higher end mats?

This community has been very helpful with my build. Thank you!

I use the EZ Tee hybrid mat from Simturf.com. 1 1/8" thick, directly on concrete. No issues with wrist or elbows. Can rotate mat so no concern about wear. No visible wear so far. They have a thicker mat, called the MegaMat (2"). In fact, I ordered this one, but they shipped me the EZtee, and I didn't catch it for months.
The industry standard for golf simulators, EZ Tee Hybrid is the choice of Trackman and other top names in golf. Our most popular golf mat can hold a real tee and allows players to hit all clubs with realistic feedback and a comfortable feel with each swing.
