I just purchased a carls place DIY enclosure. I’m planning to use gym tiles/puzzle mat with putting turf on top. Is it better to place the entire enclosure on top of 1” puzzle mat? Or should I cut the puzzle mat and putting turf to a narrower width to fit within the enclosure? Allowing me to place the enclosure directly on the concrete floor?

At least in my builds, the screen enclosure frame sits on the floor, and the mats or foamular in front of the lower metal tubing of the screen frame. In that way, it helps protect balls from hitting the frame. e.g. the EMT conduit is 1", so my mats have been at least 1" high to cover the height of the frame, and you could go even higher up until screen height. I can't think of a good reason to have the enclosure on top of the mats..........unless for some reason you need to elevate the screen or protect the concrete!
