  • Overhead Unit with Hitting Mat Question

I have a falcon ready to install. Im gathering the necessary components and I have lefty and righty players… My question is what are people doing in this case? With the width of the foresight hitting zone being quite large, hitting strips dont seem like an option in less Im missing something, especially since the player is hitting off center… Any thoughts on what people are using for a mat system?

Bullseye Soft Strike Hitting Mat $499 includes shipping. https://www.bullseyegolfsims.com/can/product/ttccm/

It's 59" x 59". I have a couple of lefties, sow we went overhead with a Falcon and tried a few different stance mat/hitting mat setups, the SoftStrike is what we settled on. It's just one piece, 59" x 59". Wide enough

We've been using this for over a month now, and it's firm enough to stand on, yet just cushy enough to feel pretty close to hitting off turf. It's got a good feel as a stance mat, just a little give but it doesn't compress a lot or buckle when you twist on it. You know when you hit it fat, but it doesn't wreck your wrists, elbows or shoulders.

Considering we'll be able to spin it one time to get fresh hitting areas if we think we need it, we felt it was a decent value.

If you can accommodate both left and right to hit from the same area, I would fully recommend a hitting strip. Reason is that area may get hit on a lot and can then be easily replaced. I built my own sim, have stance mats both sides and made my hitting strip using premium putting turf with plexi under it for flex and those gym foam mats front and back as plexi is 12" wide 24" long. Or use any hitting strip you prefer. It will be cheaper than replacing a whole hitting area. If you watch youtube videos virtually all of them have hitting strips now as that area will over time wear down, though mine has been fine for 2 years of light use. Make your own and save money, find a local golf supply. I just bought another putting strip 12"x 5 ft and paid $24 CDN, as I needed a longer strip and wanted it to look better than what I had before.
