    Supplemental mat for putting

I currently have a pretty thick mat with a DivotAction insert. It works alright, but one of my biggest issues is that I'm having a hard time getting a good feel for putts. The problem is, after 2-3 feet, the ball is dropping off the mat and rolling across the flooring (just green foam tiles). It makes it really difficult to dial in a distance. I'd feel better if I had another mat about the same height as my stance mat, so I could get a pretty good feel up to 8 feet, and a fighting chance for putts that are longer.

Does anyone have suggestions on what they use? I'm not entirely opposed to starting over with my stance mat, if I could get some cheaper supplemental mats that aren't so high. My current mat is about 2" tall ( i think, I'm out of town so I can't measure).

No ideas? What are other people using? Does anyone else have issues with gauging distance because of putting off a mat?

I built up my putting green beyond the mat using Dricore. Both are the same height.

        Thanks for the input.

I'm giving this another look as winter looms. My mat height is actually close to 2.5" to grass top. I found some OSB sub flooring at Home Depot (online only) that measures to 2.07". I think that should be me pretty close, and now I'm looking for a decent putting turf with a little backing, or maybe some turf and a carpet pad?

I'm mostly excited to get a better feel for some sim putts, but I'm also very much looking forward to the aesthetic!

I got my stance mat from Allturfmats.com 6x10ft Pro turf mat. I love the quality of the mat for hitting . I used a cut out for my putting strip. I do not know what it would "stimp" at but the price was great. $278 delivered from georgia to Idaho. great quality. They have a bunch of putting specific mats as well.
