Best Mat for a carpeted room?

So I'm going to set up my sim area in my upstairs game room rather than the garage.

Are there any specific mats that are best for a carpeted area?

I am doing the same thing and currently just hit off the carpet. It seems fine since it's a thicker carpet and has padding underneath. I have compared to hitting off Haney small mat and seems similar. Distances are spot on with my GC2. I am planning on cutting out a small section of carpet and placing in a TruStrike hitting strip. I will keep the carpet piece that was cut out so I can replace if needed. The hitting strip might be slightly higher 1/2 inch or so no big deal IMO.
