Can you use CCE mat on porcelain tile for indoor golf simulator?

I am building a golf simulator in an extra room in my house that has porcelain tile and was wondering if I need to put down something under the mat or not so as not to break tiles. Thanks. Anyone have tile floors and have extended use with CCE directly on it?

I don't know about breaking the tiles but unless you have a really big mat it will slide all over the place without some method of attachment. Mine is on a smooth concrete garage floor and it had to be held in place with corner restraints attached to the floor.

I doubt breaking the tiles will be a problem as the CCE mat is very thick and has a fat rubber underlay. If you are worrying about breaking the tiles I'd really worry about breaking my wrists on fat shots. The reality is the mat is so thick and soft this is really not a problem, at least for me. What you will notice is that even a slightly fat shot loses a lot of ball speed due to the extreme fiction with the clubhead.

Thanks Ronsc1985! I have a 5x5 and 3x5 on the way for the mat and putting and was thinking of surrounding it all with some type of turf at Home Depot, Lowes, etc or if the price is too much just a couple more CCE mats to rotate in over time...I will look to lock them in either way! Thanks for responding! Glad I don't have to put down sub floor.
