Ulti mat 2 vs CCE?

I'm getting ready to setup a sim bay in my garage and I think I've settled in on one of these two mat systems.

Read plenty on the CCE but not much out there on the ulti mat 2 from golfsimguys. Anyone using this that can offer some feedback?

Also my sim bay will be 10ft wide and will most likely be using a floor based projector. I would like to have an extended putting area towards impact screen, how are you all setting this up?

I would like to have some matting between the hitting area and screen to minimize balls bouncing off concrete, not sure what the best way to mitigate this is.

I too am curious as to if there are any favorable reviews on the ultimat. Really close to pulling the trigger on the 5 x 10 CCE mat.

I use 5' by 5' CCE and it really punishes fat shots, which was a real learning curve coming from a cheaper mat. I simply purchased artificial grass to cover the concrete floor between the hitting mat and the screen and as long as it's short pile the ball runs true.

I tested a lot of mats and decided the CCE was the best. Mine is 5x10.

I have mixed feeling on the cce mat. I do like it however depending on what kind of ball striker you are it could be good or bad. If you ever so slightly hit it a little thick, it crushes your numbers and actually makes your wrists sore.
I don't hit it fat often on the course and am wondering if a different mat might suit me better.

I have to agree on the issues with the CCE. All in all it's a nice mat but the more I play on it the less I like it. I should be getting the TruStrike today so I'm interested in testing it out. Cost is a BIG negative on it though. I'm hoping it is fantastic and justifies the cost.

I was thinking about ordering a fiberbilt or truestrike, have heard good things about the all turf mats as well.

would love to know how the truestrike mat is.
however, with the gc2 will it be tough to get both irons and driver without moving it around frequentlY

I use the CCE with an insert cut out to fit the DIvotAction insert .... I find it to be fantastic.

Hacksalot Do you use the fairway turf, rough or the dual (fairway/rough) insert for the Divot Action? How thick/tall is it. If I put this in my existing mat, I would like to have it level. Their website shows the insert sticking out high over the main mat. What's underneath the Divot Action turf insert to allow it to push down?

There's a void under the divot action. It's basically plexi with turf mounted on top. There's dense foam on the leading and trailing edge to create the void for the "divot". It's quite rudimentary, but works reasonably well. They offer different sizes, so I don't know if the larger size will feel "softer". I will say that I started to favor certain spots of the mat.

You could easily build up the space under the divotaction to be flush with your surrounding surface. I did that, and it worked fine. I recently purchased a CCE, but I haven't had much time to play on it, so I can't make a fair comparison at this point.

Very Similar to what DeaconBlooze says. I cut a 1/2" piece of plywood and placed it on the floor (in the insert cutout). This brought the DivotAction insert to the same height as the CCE mat.

A few details:
- when I cut the CCE and placed the DivotAction insert in the cutout, the edges of the CCE kept "rolling over" and interfering with the cut out clearances. To solve this I took a lighter and burned in the cut away edges of the CCE... Problem solved.
- I've heard some people don't like the Tee Hole cutout in the DivotAction. I actually like it , I had mine slightly offset from the center so it doesn't interfere with putting or iron shots ....but still I don't have to move the GC2 . works great.

What is the thickness of the divotaction fairway insert? I have the net return 6x10 mat and it is 3\4". I love it because the ball doesn't bounce off the net return on the concrete, but it is killing my hands. I now have trigger finder in both of pinkies and constant joint pain in my fingers. So I'm looking to put an insert in the net return mat, but I have a feeling everything is thicker, so I have a feeling I'd have to put something under the net return to raise myself even with the fairway insert.

I am having the same issues with my net return turf mat. I use that in my setup and probably hit ~800 swings per week. I have never had issues with elbow pain or trigger finger before. Now I do have L pinky trigger finger and R elbow pain after every session. I had originally thought it was because I increased the amount of golf I was playing but perhaps it is due to the turf I am hitting on. I would also like to try the divot action to see if that helps. I really dont wanna stop now that this setup with Skytrak/TGC is so friggin amazing!

Would love to know if I could cut out the net return turf and insert the divot action and what that would take.
