I saw some questions here about slipping mat problems and I took a simple step to solve the problem. My mat sits on top of carpeting in my attic and so I bought 2.5 inch carpet nails and flat round rings with a hole in the middle and I just nailed right through the rings, through the mat (at the 4 corners) and into the carpet. Solved the problem very simply. Thought I would post this with a picture in case it helps others...

works great if its a wood floor, concrete is where a lot of sims are used like basements and garages. and busting out a rotor hammer and concrete pins is never the best thing. but to each there own I used a quick release glue that you can apply its clear and it works great its like a liquid velcro..

Here is the adhesive i used and its applied with a paint roller apply like paint a wall and for wood it might need more as it sucks into the wood let dry for 5 minutes it will be very tacky and then apply carpet tiles or turf. Done..... it dries clear so if you ever pull up tiles to replace it will be tacky so you can replace damaged tiles or completely remove and eventually after a couple days of no tiles floor will not be sticky
