  • Optoma GT1080 Ceiling Mount Suggestions

Any suggestions for a ceiling mount for my new GT1080? Have a 10x10 screen mounted and not sure yet how far down from ceiling I will need to hang the projector. Figured I will need an adjustable one. Lots of different ones on Amazon so looking for any insights.

    Thanks

Best thing to do is to simply hold the projector up to where the picture fills the screen. that will let you know how tall of a mount you need.. I have the same projector about 7 feet away from the screen and it sits about 18" down from the ceiling.

Didn't realize that projector needed to be mounted so far from the ceiling. Wont "keystone correction" adjust is you mount it closer to the ceiling ????? This is one of the projectors I'm considering to replace my Mw632ST

I have the same setup - single car garage with GT1080, I use this projector mount. It's fully adjustable. I'm running 8x6 throw and projector is 4 ft from screen. I only used the base mount (it comes with big extension bar that is adjustable down to like 4 feet I think from ceiling, but this is removable and you can just use the base [what I did]).

You just used the base and mounted to a 10' ceiling?

Can you post a picture of what your projector looks like attached to the mount? How the arms are set up?

Can't you just point the projector so the image starts at the top of the screen a use keystones to make the image square at the bottom ???

Keystone correction reduces the quality of the picture with every plus or minus you do. It’s best practice to get it as close as possible so you can use none or very little. I currently have my keystone set to 1 to get it display correctly.

Hi I am hitting from 9ft from my screen but my projector is behind me about 15ft from screen.
its set in 4.3 and fills all the screen instead of wide screen. I would like to put it to wide screen but this means putting the projector above my head but worried I hit it with my clubs. Can anyone tell me where is the best place to set it on the ceiling I have a 9ft high ceiling. Thanks in advance.
