  • Projector for Golf Instructor

    HI,

I am a PGA golf instructor and have my own indoor facility. I use a Flightscope for instruction and currently use 2 big screen tvs to display data. One for Flightscope data and one for video of swings. I would like to get a projector to display the flightscope data and possibly have a simulator. I have the teeing area 15 feet from the West Coast netting (PR20). I have three rows of lights and can turn off the lights nearest the screen to help with display. The ceilings are 10'6" I need help deciding on the correct projector. Would like to stay under $1000. Any Help?

Nice looking space! Just Google short throw projectors. There are a number that are under the $1000 range. I have used an Optoma for the last year and several months and have had great luck with it. It's not a short throw, but good.

Why short throw over regular? I dont want to put it too far forward and have someone "sky" one into the unit. Is it because it would be a brighter image than it having to throw 15 ft or so? Thanks for your help.

short throw would be so you can do a full screen image without worrying about the golfers shadow.

recommend you check out slickdeals.net, there have been a good number of projector deals lately. believe i saw some nice optoma refurb short throw projectors for under $800

also check out projector central so you can do calculations on where to place the projector, screen size, throw distance, etc.
